NEWS

Danielle Zollickhofer captured some of the action.

Crowds gathered on Thames’ Pollen St to see the bright parade showcasing their unusual passion. The annual event draws thousands of spectators and steampunkers to Thames with participants of all ages showing off their costumes. A surprising amount of furry fourlegged steampunkers took part in the parade this year as well. Apart from the parade, the Saturday festival programmme also included steampunk markets, a display of steampunk vehicles and tea pot racing. For the tea pot racing, the competitors use the chassis of a remotecontrol car and pimp it with a teapot or other things fixed on top to race it through an obstacle course.
