Monday, September 27: A very small gathering this evening saw the top score go marginally to Clare with 99.6 as well as a 96.3. Alan was very close with his first shoot scoring 98.4 and also a 96.3. Bob had a couple of practice shoots as well as scoring a 92.0 while Murray was finally able to shoot and scored a respectable 91.1 after three months away from his rifle. Di shot some very consistent scores with 94.3, 95.2, 94.3, however was out-shot by Blayke who improved over his three shoots 95.1, 95.2, 97.7. Caden also improved his two cards with 90.1 and 93.1. Friday, October 1: A slightly larger group came on Friday for shooting with Brian scoring an impressive 98.6 and 96.3 to claim top spot. Alan wasn’t far behind with 95.1, 97.2 while Stephen scored 95.4 and 94.3. The father and son battle between Chris and Bradley saw Bradley reigning once again with 91.1 and 88.1; Chris 88.0, 88.2, 86.1. Monday, October 4: We had some new ‘old’ faces at shooting tonight with Paul taking out top spot shooting 97.4 while Di wasn’t far behind with 96.5. Alan scored 95.3 and 93.3 while Bob was nearly there shooting 94.1, 93.2. Blayke took the junior top score with 93.2, Caden 90.1 and Murray took seniors division with 88.3. Friday, October 8: There was some good shooting tonight with Brian shooting an impressive 97.5, 96.3 while son Stephen scored 95.2 and 93.3. In the second father-son dual, son Bradley redeemed the lead for the younger generation shooting 83.1 and 89.0 while father Chris is coming fast on his heels with 82.1, 86.1. As always, the range is closed to all but members with their own gear. Stratford Avon Bowling Club: On Tuesday, October 5, the Women’s Egmont Shield team defeated Manaia. On Saturday morning, October 9, the Men’s Pennants Div 1 team lost three games to nil against West End. Division two team beat Waitara winning two games and drawing one. The Saturday afternoon Mufti 2hr/2game Fun Tournaments are a great opportunity for social bowlers. On Sunday, October 10, the Club Championship Mixed Graded Drawn Pairs was won by Paul Digby and Karen Bond. Second: June Phelan and Rudi Benkert. Third: Cliff Smith and Sue Harris. The week ahead: Friday, October 15: 5pm Beers n Bowls. Saturday, October 16: 9am Men’s Div 1. Men’s Div 2 Bye. 1 pm Mufti 2hr/2game Fun Tournament (12.30 muster so draw can be done). Sunday, October 17, 9am Club Trophy Kevin Mischefski. Tuesday, October 19: 9.30am Women’s Egmont Shield. Wednesday, October 20: 1pm Pat Collins.
