Glass recycling back
The city council kerbside glass recycling collection has resumed. The council had to make the tough call to pause this collection due to driver shortages during the Omicron outbreak, acting resource recovery manager Bryce Hosking says. He asks residents to be patient over the coming weeks while the council clears the backlog. Residents can place a second container of glass at the kerbside, but it must have handles and be no bigger than a crate. “We also cannot take the containers away with us, so we’d ask that you please avoid cardboard so we don’t create litter,” Hosking says. Glass recycling is collected on the alternate week to wheelie bins. You can find your rubbish and recycling days at pncc. govt.nz/rubbishandrecycling.
