Golfers brave the wild weather

The annual Ka¯piti Golf Club 9 Hole Ladies Tall Poppy Open Day tournament was held last month. “Unfortunately wet weather meant some players didn’t turn up on the day,” convenor Joan Hilder said. “However those who braved the wet had an enjoyable time although the rain did make it difficult for some to record fabulous scores.” Winners were Division 1 ladies: best gross Iesha Adrian-Mansfield (Ka¯piti), best stableford Vicky Bradley (Ka¯piti), 2nd Shona Thomson (PBGC), 3rd Lorraine Foubister (Ka¯piti), 4th Cheryl Harper (O¯ taki), nearest the line Vicky Bradley (Ka¯piti), nearest the pin Paula Thomson (PBGC). Division 2 ladies: best gross Rae-Ann Beaman (PNGC), best stableford Pauline Maclean (Ka¯piti), 2nd Joy Berry (Waikanae), 3rd Cath Congreve (Manor Park), 4th Dawn Nippert (Manor Park), nearest the line Anne Flipp (Manawatu), nearest the pin Barbara Smith (Manawatu).
