Our vaccinators doing a terrific job
Scott Simpson MP For Coromandel
Last week I went to the vaccination centre at Thames Goldfields Shopping Centre to get my second dose of the Pfizer vaccine. Because I’d already been through the process for my first jab six weeks ago, I knew that getting vaccinated is really simple; you just turn up, roll up your sleeve, and the health workers do the rest. The staff were professional and reassuring. Before I knew it, I was signed in, jabbed and on my way to the waiting room. After a brief observation period I was free to carry on with my day. All up it took about 30 minutes. Our vaccinators here in the Coromandel and across the country are doing terrific job, but they need people to keep turning up and getting their jabs. If you’ve been vaccinated, that’s great, but please encourage your friends and family to also take this much needed step to protect themselves and the community. I’ve never had any doubt that being vaccinated would provide the best option for both my own health protection and that of us all collectively. This has been reinforced over the past few weeks as Covid cases continue to be found in Auckland and other communities. We need to achieve a high level of immunisation so that we not only protect ourselves and our loved ones, but also so that lockdowns can become a thing of the past. This weekend there’s going to be a huge nationwide push to get as many people vaccinated as possible. I’m supporting Super Saturday and I hope you will too.
