Centralines doubles down on discounts

Central Hawke’s Bay power consumers received a winter bonus recently in the form of a discount paid by Centralines in June. The $1.55 million discount was provided to the 8442 eligible consumers connected to Centralines’ network as of March 31, 2021. To brighten the cold season even more, Central Hawke’s Bay consumers connected the network as at May 31 can also look forward to an extra winter discount, which should appear in August as credits on power accounts sent by retailers. Central Hawke’s Bay Consumers Power Trust chairman Alistair Setter said the trust continues to be very happy with the performance of Centralines. “The past 12 months have brought much uncertainty and unrest for many as the impact of Covid-19 took hold — but through it all, our staff, board and management remained committed to Centralines’ vision of being a collaborative partner that enables growth and delivers in the new energy economy. “At the same time we have seen increased electricity volumes through the network as a consequence of more power use at home during lockdown, a surge in demand following this, growth in customers connected to the network and increased irrigation pumping due to the ongoing drought conditions.” Centralines chairman Ian Walker said the company is committed to enabling longterm prosperity for Central Hawke’s Bay through dynamic solutions. He said Centralines is passionate about giving back to the local community as well and achieves this by supporting a number of community services and providing employment opportunities. “The discount will have appeared as a one-off Centralines credit on each consumer’s power bill. “The amount varies depending on how much electricity consumers have used over the past 12 months, and how many installation control points (ICPs) they have. However, a residential electricity consumer will have received a minimum discount of $55.” Consumers with questions about their discount, or if they haven’t received it by the end of September, should contact their electricity retailer.
